The Townsville based ex: Mt. Isa folk are have their Bi-Annual Reunion in Townsville sometime next year. It is usually held same weekend the Broncs play the Cowboys @ Brothers. We have been in touch with Michelle Pylant – one of the organisers, & she advises they are meeting in Sept / Oct sometime this year to decide on venue & date. Bruce & I were thinking once this is public knowledge, set in stone etc., we could tell our mob where & when the Bi-Annual shindig is on, who to contact for a ticket [noting seats are LIMITED] & arrange to have our own get together’s on the same weekend. This way, you can buy me all my beer!! October 1, 2011 - As a follow up to our 45 Year Reunion held in Townsville during August, we are here once again to let you know that we have a planned another get together to be held @ : The Carina Leagues Club, Creek Road, Brisbane. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at this function - noting the Bistro opens @ 12.00 - and that Bruce Mullan has offered to display his Computer Slide Show with photographs of Mount Isa & previous Super 66'ers Reunions, during the afternoon's proceedings. So, lock this into your diaries, and we'll see you there ! September 28, 2011 - Super 66'ers made the front page of the North West Star today showing Mick Bakhash and Craig Foot handing over the Super 66 donation to Kathy Swift of the Mount Isa branch of the Leukaemia Foundation. Because of the excellent numbers of Super 66'ers attending the reunion, the per head cost reduced significantly to allow us to make the sizable donation.

Cliff had a good yarn with all and enjoyed looking thru the old photo's on display. A big thank you goes out to Bruce & Irene Mullan for looking after Cliff and his partner Pat [Trish]. They certainly enjoyed the day out, as much as we enjoyed their company. Viv Irwin [aka surfer boy] and some of the ladies took photo's of the day. ↓↓↓
Apparently Roy Pope lost his comb during proceedings, whilst BigFoot & your's truly showed stamina beyond belief, by sticking to our strict diet !! Cheerz, DO'K . . . . . . . . on behalf of the greatest bunch of Tradesmen that MIM ever produced ! January 6, 2011 - Hi, Today, we brought Cliff Jury and his partner Patricia McLean to our place for lunch. We had a great time talking about old times in Mount Isa. Cliff is now 90 years old and he seems to be in very good health, apart from some problems with his eyes. He has a very clear memory of happenings in Mount Isa all those years ago when we were completing our apprenticeships. We enjoyed their company very much. I have attached a photo of Cliff that we took today. I asked Cliff if he and Pat would like to come to the next Super 66ers lunch time get together at the Carina Leagues Club, as our guests (we will pay for their food and drinks). I explained that the people attending would all love to meet with him again. He was very keen to come, so we will have to select a day and try to get as many people there as possible. I was thinking that sometime late February. Either Saturday 19th or Saturday 26th would suit us. George and Lorna would be back from their overseas trip then and hopefully they will come. What are your thoughts on this? Best regards,
December 12, 2010 - Hi All, You wouldn't believe what has happened this week in the Redlands. On the morning of 1/12/10, I was working for STAR Community Transport Redlands. As usual, I had my run organised, which was emailed to me the day before. I had to pick up, at three separate locations, a total of five people and take them into various hospitals in the city. At the first pick-up point, I had to pick up a couple. I knew the lady involved - I had met this lady (Pat McLean) a number of years ago when she moved into the new Moreton RSL Retirement Village at Thornlands. Soon after moving in, her husband died. She was a regular client on the EasyShopper bus, on which I have always worked. Some time ago (I guess about a year ago), she announced to us that she had a new "partner" and that they were engaged. They are still living in separate units at the village, but are very good friends. Anyway, I simply said my morning greetings to both of them, took their money and wrote the receipt out. I then went onto the next clients etc, and went onto the city. That afternoon when I was back at base doing my daily report, I noticed that Pat's partner was a Clifford Jury. I suddenly thought that this was an unusual name, and I wondered if per chance it was the Cliff Jury that we all knew and respected at Mt. Isa Mines Ltd. All I can remember is this old man getting into the van before Pat. As usual with this job, I didn't take a lot of notice of what he looked like. Since then, it was on my mind constantly, and I resolved to ask Pat the next time if her partner worked at Mt. Isa any time. On Friday morning this week, I was at the shopping centre delivering Lions Christmas cakes to our gift wrapping stand and I spotted Pat. I approached her and asked her if her partner had worked for MIM. Would you believe, she said that he had worked for MIM, and that he held a senior position in the company. I knew then that he was the Cliff Jury that we all knew and respected (see attached photo). I gave her my contact details, and today, Cliff phoned and we had a long conversation about the days in Mount Isa. He was so pleased to hear from an old Mount Isa contact. He is 90 years old now. Believe it or not, he has been in the Redlands for a number of years now, and he plays bridge at the same club that Irene plays at. He plays on Tuesday mornings, so Irene has not met him through bridge to date. Prior to coming to the Redlands, he lived at Mooloolaba. We want to bring him and Pat to our place in the near future. However, they are not available until after Christmas. I told him I will contact him early in the new year and arrange a time to meet. You never know, we might be able to bring them to one of our lunch meetings at the Carina Leagues Club. Lets keep our fingers crossed. Cheers

February 28, 2010 - The usual suspects had their annual breakfast at the Coffee Club in the Brisbane CBD this morning.
