Three Reunions On One Weekend!
October 17, 18 & 19, 2003
This is a brief note to let you know the outcome of the Mini-Reunion of the Super 66'ers that was held over the weekend of October 17, 18 and 19, 2003.
About 15 Super 66'ers, together with their partners, attended. With a few other guests, we had over thirty at the dinner on Saturday night. I am sure that those who attended had a good time. We had several poolside gatherings where many a funny story was retold. Isn't it amazing that you "remember" events clearer as time goes on, irrespective of whether they happened or not!!
A significant number of people from our group attended the Mount Isa High School Reunion on Sunday 19 October. Over 400 ex-students and their partners attended this reunion, and it was great to catch up with so many people at one place.
We had an "executive meeting" during the weekend and we decided that the next Super 66'ers reunion will be held in Mount Isa during 2006. This will be forty years after we all started our apprenticeships with MIM in 1966. Garry and Jenny Henry and Andrew and Leslie Mitchelson have kindly agreed to be the organisers. The Mount Isa group will assist them with this task, including the timing of the reunion. On behalf of all Super 66'ers, I would like to thank Garry, Jenny, Andrew and Leslie for taking on this task.
I would like to thank everyone for your continued interest in the Super 66ers and wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I look forward to the next time we meet and keeping in touch with many of you in the meantime. I hope we maintain this unique camaraderie, and
Let's Keep the Dream Alive!!!
